Beginning with Friday’s women’s basketball game between Westmont and Occidental, Westmont Athletics will offer free video broadcasts of many of its home athletic events. The broadcasts, which are a service of the Westmont Sports Information office, will be accessible from the Westmont web site.
Stretch Internet will serve as the distributor of these broadcasts and will provide technical assistance for users. The broadcasts will be provided in Flash format.
A team of four student broadcasters will serve as play-by-play announcers and color commentators. Returning for his third year as an announcer of Westmont athletic events is Kevin Kihlstrom. Joining him are Stephanie Dotson, John Senyard and Paul Bump.
Every home basketball game during the 2009-10 season will be broadcast, as will the majority of home baseball games. A schedule of baseball broadcasts will be made available in December. Next fall, volleyball and men’s and women’s soccer will be added to the broadcast schedule.
