Mackenzie Walsh is finishing her prep cross country career in fine fashion. The Cate School senior won the Condor League individual championship and led her team to the girls title.
On the boys side, Laguna Blanca’s Parker Lilly raced to the individual crown at the league finals in Los Olivios. Lilly, a junior, covered the three-mile course in 15 minutes, 48 seconds.
Walsh, a senior, remained undefeated against Division 5 competition this season. Her winning time was 19:24. Denali Tietjen (21:08) and Lexi Greenwald (21:12) finished fourth and fifth, respectively, and Adrian Walsh (21:31) took eighth in a nice grouping of runners. Charlotte Bowles (23:11) rounded out the Cate scoring by finishing 18th.
Laguna Blanca’s Marla Bonser finished second in a time of 20:11.
Cate won the team title with 36 points, beating out Laguna Blanca (61), Midland (77), Thacher (77, slower sixth runner) and Dunn (87).
Thacher won the boys’ team crown with 23 points. Midland finished second with 60 points followed by Cate (71), Laguna Blanca (102), Ojai Valley (161), Dunn (168) and Besant Hill.
Cate’s top finishers were Austin Lokre (17th, 18:16), Bill Pomerans (18th, 18:16) and senior Mark Mullan (19th, 18:22) paced the Rams.
