Maria Mayer and Jenn Waddill combined for 17 kills Friday night, leading SBCC to a 25-15, 25-19, 25-18 women’s volleyball sweep at Hancock. Mayer had nine kills while Waddill contributed eight and hit .304.
It was the seventh straight win for the sixth-ranked Vaqueros (19-2, 8-1), who are tied for first in the WSC with Moorpark with one match remaining.
Emilia Shugrue and Nicole Bergmann added five kills apiece while Jake Kelly had 12 digs and Case Jenkins 10. Santa Barbara built an 18-8 lead in the first set and never looked back.
“We played steady on the road and we got a lot of players in,” said coach Ed Gover.
The Vaqueros complete the regular season on Tuesday with a 7 p.m. home match against Ventura.
