Bishop Diego’s girls volleyball team suffered a late-season lapse on Tuesday in a 25-12, 25-13, 25-21 loss at St. Bonaventure.
“We just didn’t show up to play. At this point in the season you’d think we’d be over these psychological hurdles but we’re not,” said coach Joe Reiken.
However, he added that “in the lump of coal that was our match there were a few diamonds.”
Most notably was senior middle blocker Janelle Kohler, who racked up a whopping 15 blocks, including seven in the third set.
“She was amazing, especially in the third set,” said Reiken.
Selena Schmidt added five kills while Diana Sleep had five kills and 19 digs.
