Carpinteria swept in season finale

Carpinteria completed its season with a 25-13, 25-10, 25-19 loss at Oak Park in a Tri-Valley League girls volleyball match Thursday.
Kelci Jones led the Warriors’ attack with eight kills, seven digs and two blocks. Middle blocker Erin Harris had two kills and six blocks and liberto Yadira Saldana picked up 17 digs.
“Tonight we were kind of timid at first,” Carpinteria coach Katie Dolge said. “The third game was great. We played really well and put in a 100 percent effort. It was a team effort and it was nice to end on a positive note.”
After finishing 3-12 overall and 2-10 in the TVL, Dolge said she wasn’t sure if Carpinteria would remain in the league or drop into the Frontier League next year.
“We’re waiting to see how it shakes out,” she said. “It looks like there’s going to be a three-way tie for third place. We possibly could be in the same league.”
