Senior captain Maya Stanford played in her last match for the Carpinteria girls golf team on Thursday, unfortunately in a 286-317 Tri-Valley League loss to Oaks Christian at Camarillo Springs Golf Course.
Stanford’s 60 was one stroke behind Christine Saito’s 59, which led the Warriors. Lauren Taira was in the mix, carding a 61.
The Lions’ Paige Griffin was far better than the competition, earning medalist honors with a 43. Teammate Danielle Burr posted a 54 for Oaks Christian, which improves to 15-2 overall.
The Warriors, coming off their first win of the season on Tuesday against St. Bonaventure, finish up at 1-9.
The two teams will be competing at the league championships on Monday at River Ridge Golf Course.
