Amanda Schulenberg dropped the proverbial shoe on visiting Mission Prep, serving Laguna Blanca to 13 straight points in the first game of a 25-12, 25-14, 25-22 non-league win on Monday.
With the score tied 12-12 in game 1, Schulenberg settled in at the service line, taking the Owls all the way to a win in the first set.
Laguna, ranked No. 6 in Div. IV-AA at 15-1 overall, has its senior night on Wednesday against Dunn in a Condor League matchup.
The Owls snapped Mission Prep’s 11-match winning streak that dates back to the middle of September. The Royals have a non-tournament record of 12-2.
Jackie Harvey posted a team-high 14 kills for Laguna and added three blocks. Jessie Ditmore knocked down five kills. Anna Dwyer started her first game at libero since her return from an appendectomy, recording 15 digs.
