SBCC didn’t turn in its best women’s soccer performance on Friday in San Luis Obispo and Cuesta took advantage to post a 1-1 tie. Courtney Belsheim gave the Vaqueros a 1-0 lead in the 17th minute on an assist from Kelly Deckers.
The Cougars (3-7-3, 2-2-1) tied the game in the 90th minute. The Vaqueros are 7-1-5 and 2-0-2 in the WSC North.
“It was really disappointing,” said SBCC coach John Sisterson. “We had a number of chances but we didn’t play well. It was a scrappy game. We didn’t compete like we could have.
“But we’ve still only lost one game this year.”
The Vaqueros play host to first-place Ventura on Tuesday at 7:30 p.m.
