Libero Lauren Capritto impressed her coaches on Thursday night in Santa Barbara High’s 25-19, 25-16, 25-23 girls volleyball sweep of host Ventura.
“She had an excellent match in the back row. She had five digs and passed really well in serve-receive,” said coach John Gannon.
Jordan Fuller served five consecutive points for the second time this season (this time wearing her own shoes), and Gannon said that Sarah Mendoza also had a stron night in the back row.
Eve Ettinger had 13 kills with two blocks and five digs.
“Two of her kills were blasted down the line and almost took their setter’s head off,” said assistant coach Lee Carlander.
Emily Rottman added 10 kills and eight digs for the Dons (10-3, 1-1 Channel League), who play at Oxnard on Monday.
