San Marcos allowed Cabrillo a head start on Tuesday, only to blow past the Conquistadores in the second half to win the non-league match 19-11.
Tyler Lisea led the Royals in scoring with six goals and Travis Johnson was next with five. Each player filled the stat sheet. Johnson tallied four assists and Lisea three while both recorded two steals and two drawn ejections.
San Marcos allowed two goals in the entire second half after giving up six in the first quarter alone. The Royals fell behind 1-4 before rallying to 6-6 by the end of the first period.
San Marcos took charge in the second half, outscoring Cabrillo 9-2.
Travis Frohlich pitched in three goals and Ben Battles two.
San Marcos is 10-12, 0-2, and has Dos Pueblos on Thursday.
