Emily Fox’s 2-over 37 was more than enough on Monday, treating the Dos Pueblos girls golf team to a 210-269 Channel League win over San Marcos at Glen Annie.
Fox was the Chargers’ only sub-40 scorer, a contrast to their last match in which they carded a season-low 191 and everyone was at 40 or below.
“You’re not going to be at your best all the time,” reasoned DP head coach Rob Schiff, still happy to pick up a league win.
Dos Pueblos has now won nine straight matches to start the season and is 4-0 in the Channel League.
San Marcos’ Lise Anderson was responsible for its low score, a 45.
The Royals and the Chargers have the same opponent next, with San Marcos hosting Ventura on Tuesday at Santa Barbara Golf Club and DP hosting on Wednesday at Glen Annie.
Monday’s match was rescheduled from Thursday because of San Marcos’ school lockdown that cancelled athletic events school wide that day.
