Julia Rios and Emily Duncan went down fighting on Tuesday at the Frontier League girls tennis championships. The Bishop Diego duo fell to Santa Paula’s Zionne Lee and Zahara Ramirez 6-4, 6-3 in the semifinals before being defeated by Santa Clara’s Amanda De La Cruz and Thae Nguyen 6-3, 6-3 in the third-place game.
“The competition was tougher this year, but the girls did really well and we’re looking forward to next year,” said coach Suzanne Petrie.
