Cate’s girls volleyball team served up a whopping 20 aces in a 25-20, 25-19, 26-24 Condor League sweep at Thacher on Wednesday.
Emma Burrell had five of the aces to go along with a team-high eight kills, while Addison Mayfield had five aces of her own in addition to seven kills. Lindsay Prudden and Grace Williams had four aces apiece.
The Rams (4-3, 2-1) had a comfortable lead in the first game until Thacher made a run. Williams notched a block and closed the door on the frame, however. Thacher was up 24-22 in the third before Cate rattled off four straight to end the match.
“Our serving was pretty on,” said coach Dan Terry.
