At least they don’t have to worry about going undefeated anymore.
The third-ranked Laguna Blanca girls volleyball team was beaten for the first time on Thursday, falling 21-25, 25-19, 25-23, 27-25 at No. 9 Viewpoint in Calabasas.
“We just made too many errors. We had a ton of passing errors tonight,” said coach Jim Alzina. “Viewpoint is a really good team, and they didn’t make many mistakes at all tonight.”
Laguna Blanca is now 5-1 in full-length matches and 11-1 when factoring in tournament matches.
Jackie Harvey had 22 kills with five digs while Jessie Ditmore added eight kills with five blocks. Amanda Schulenberg put away seven kills.
Libero Anna Dwyre returned from an appendectomy and started the match at defensive specialist but was in too much pain to play after the set ended. Alzina said a bright spot was that his team trailed 7-1
