Rio Mesa’s Spartans were on another level, frustrating the Cate boys water polo team in a 13-3 Pacific View League decision on Tuesday.
The loss drops the Rams to 4-7 overall while league-leading Rio Mesa, the No. 1 team in Div. VI, improves to 7-0 in league.
Brian Warren recorded all three of Cate’s scores and head coach Nathan Alldredge thought sophomore goalkeeper Blake Mackall did a good job of keeping the score to a minimum against the high-powered Spartans.
Cate closes out its home schedule on Thursday with a league game against Hueneme.
