Sophomore Mark Moreno took second in the WSC Championships on Tuesday and the Vaquero men placed fourth in the cross country meet at Fairbanks Park in San Luis Obispo.
The women also finished fourth, led by Seanie Rigney’s 18th-place effort.
Moreno was clocked in 21:41, 11 seconds behind Francisco Quijada of Glendale. Glendale took first in the men’s and women’s races and also captured WSC titles in both competitions, which used a point system that combined the WSC Preview and Championship races.
The Vaqueros tied for third with Ventura in the final WSC standings while the women were fourth. Both squads qualified for the Southern Cal Regional on Nov. 7 at Mt. San Antonio in Walnut.
