Selena Schmidt had nine kills and Jenna McIntyre added 16 assists and four blocks on Tuesday but it wasn’t enough as the Bishop Diego girls volleyball team was swept by visiting La Reina 25-12, 25-16, 25-20.
“We got better as the match went on. It was definitely better than yesterday’s match against Oak Park,” said coach Joe Reiken.
Next up for the Cardinals (3-9, 2-8 TVL) is Thursday’s rivalry matcn at Carpinteria, which carries major implications. The losing team will be moved back down to the Frontier League next season.
“It was tight last time, when we won in five. We’re legitimately evenly matched,” said Reiken.
