Cate secured a quality 12-9 victory over Camarillo on Thursday, enjoying nine goals from the Rams’ two senior co-captains.
Conrad Kurth found the cage six times, mostly from his work at the 2-meter position. Brett Diemer scored three times, his last coming near the end of the third quarter to give the Rams an 8-7 edge.
Cate never relinquished the lead from there, scoring four unanswered goals to take control of a match in which neither team led by more than a single score until the final quarter.
The Rams’ next contest is Tuesday when they host Oxnard.
