Nicole Bullemer and Emily Fox each turned in rounds of 40 as the Dos Pueblos girls golf team won a three-way match against host Buena and San Marcos on Thursday. The Chargers shot a cumulative 216 while the Bulldogs fired a 259. San Marcos did not have enough players available to record an official score.
Lise Anderson shot a 44 for the Royals and Alexandra Peretiako turned in a 45. Grace Jeong shot a 44 for Dos Pueblos and Emily Wisma shot a 45 for Buena.
Chargers coach Rob Schiff said that his team is going to have to start shooting lower scores in a hurry to make an impact in the postseason.
“We’re trying to get ready for CIF, but the last couple of weeks we haven’t been playing that well. Once you get to the playoffs the competition is just brutal,” he said. “We seem to be kind of losing our focus at certain points in the round. We’re going to have to compete a little bit better.”
