A week after our South Coast teams failed to record a win on Friday night, Dos Pueblos and Santa Barbara meet in a key Channel League bout that guarantees a much-needed win for one of the schools. Carpinteria, Bishop Diego and San Marcos are again up against tough tests in Week Seven.
Carpinteria may face the longest odds of any in a matchup with CIF Northwest Division No. 1 Oaks Christian. The Lions, 6-0 and ranked nationally, crushed Bishop Diego 65-6 last week. It doesn’t get much easier for the Cardinals this week, as they host Nordhoff, No. 7 in the Division with a 5-1 record.
After a 2-1 start, the Chargers have been battered by injuries and have lost three straight heading into the clash with winless Santa Barbara. The Dons showed life last week while putting up a season-high 23 points at Ventura.
San Marcos (1-5) hosts those Cougars, who have won 3-of-4 after losing their first two games. At the same time in Ventura, Buena and St. Bonaventure (Live audio webcast on PresidioSports.com) face off in a battle of 5-1 Channel League teams.
