Haley True’s 45 stood alone at Santa Barbara Golf Club on Wednesday, beating out a slew of golfers within a few strokes of each other to lead Santa Barbara High to a 233-288 Channel League victory over San Marcos.
Dons teammates Olivia Fanaro and Lexi Ortega tied for second with 46s, Kylie Wagner carded a 48 and Saralisa Ortega a 49.
“We’re very consistent, only a four-shot difference between our girls,” said Dons coach Ryan Throop, whose sixth golfer Sarah Kirkwood was right there with a 53.
San Marcos’ Lise Anderson and Alexandria Peretiako were in the hunt for medalist honors, but finished two strokes back at 47. Zaira Barbosa, Sofi Castanon and Carley Russell went 3-4-5 for the Royals.
Santa Barbara improves to 13-3 overall and 4-1 in league with its second win over the Royals this season. San Marcos falls to 1-4 in league.
