Dons’ Kerwin-McElroy makes himself heard

Brendan Kerwin-McElroy made some noise for an otherwise quiet Santa Barbara boys water polo team on Tuesday, scoring six times in a 9-6 Channel League win over Buena.

“I was really happy with our defense but our offense was a bit sluggish,” said Dons head coach Mark Walsh, whose team held the Bulldogs scoreless until mid-way through the third-quarter.

A trio of Dons, Mark Davis, Nick Johnson and Andrew Adams, recorded three steals apiece on defense.

Sam Foley added two goals for Santa Barbara, now 11-7 overall, 2-1 in league, and Kenny Myers scored once.

The Dons host San Marcos on Thursday.
