Cate runners get a better view

Mackenzie Walsh led not only the Cate girls but also the boys team to a 91-157 cross country win over Viewpoint in a meet that scored the boys and girls as one.

ThreePicklesFreeSodaThe male runners started three and a half minutes after the girls and the top-10 runners from each school were counted regardless of gender.

Walsh won the race with a time of 21 minutes flat. Spencer MacAvoy was the Rams’ second finisher in seventh and Denali Tiejen third in eighth overall. Mark Mullan and Joe Gottwald rounded out the top-10, part of a string of 11-straight Rams to cross the finish line.

Cate has its next dual meet on Oct. 28 at Ojai Valley School.
