Buena buries Royals in the end, 13-12

San Marcos came up a buck short on Monday, falling to Buena 13-12 in a Channel League matchup.

Travis Frohlich rained in six goals and led the Royals to an 11-10 lead at the end of the third quarter but Buena was able to rally for the win.

“We are definitely having problems closing out games as we have had leads slip away late in the game numerous times lately,” said Royals head coach Jeff Ashton, who thought his team played a good game overall.

San Marcos looked to have momentum in the third quarter, breaking from halftime down a goal and scoring six times in eight minutes to take the lead.

Colin Chatfield led Buena in scoring with three goals.

Tyler Lisea, Andre Rivera and Travis Johnson added two goals each for San Marcos.
