Warriors pull past Rangers in five-setter

The Carpinteria closed out Nordhoff in five games on Tuesday night, shaking off the visiting Rangers 20-25, 25-19, 25-17, 22-25, 15-12 for the Warriors’ first victory of the season.

Yadira Saldana recorded a season-high 22 digs and Megan McMahon provided the offense with 12 kills. Defensive specialist Shelby Dunlap put up 14 digs and added three aces.

It didn’t look good after a game 1 loss, but Carpinteria head coach Katie Dolge said her team did a great job cutting down on its unforced errors in order to right the ship and move on to victory.

The Warriors (1-2), who will host their own tournament on Sept. 26, first open up Tri-Valley League play on Tuesday against Oaks Christian.
