Jenn Waddill and Nicole Bergmann dominated the middle on Friday with 21 kills, leading the SBCC women’s volleyball team to a 25-14, 27-25, 25-14 sweep of Cuyamaca in El Cajon. Waddill, a freshman from San Marcos High, had 11 putaways.
Case Jenkins collected 15 digs for the 24th-ranked Vaqueros (9-1), who’ve won nine straight in one of their best starts in school history.
“It was really hot in that gym and it affected both teams,” noted coach Ed Gover. “There were a lot of unforced errors and we just had to be steady.”
SBCC will compete in the 16-team San Diego CC Invitational today.
