Freshman Lauren Underwood didn’t use age as an excuse on Tuesday, leading the Bishop Diego girls volleyball team to a 25-6, 25-17, 25-10 thrashing at Villanova.
Underwood recorded five kills, 10 digs and a match-high five aces.
“In the first game she pretty much served them off the court,” Bishop Diego head coach Joe Reiken said, describing her serve as a hard-to-handle floater that crosses the court low to the net.
Nicole Tetherow chipped in 10 digs of her own to go with five kills and two aces.
The Cardinals are scheduled to compete in this weekend’s Santa Paula Tournament before a crosstown matchup at Laguna Blanca a week from tonight.
