Danielle Gillaspy’s under-par round helped her St. Joseph Knights knock off the visiting San Marcos girls golf team on Monday, leading a round of 225 to the Royals’ 293.
Gillaspy’s 1-under 34 came at Rancho Maria Golf Course.
San Marcos coach Shawn Ricci said his team struggled some on the road, but are gaining good experience ahead of league play.
The Royals face Oxnard for the second time this season on Tuesday.
