Santa Barbara’s David Larson biked his way to the Olympic Course title at the Carpinteria Triathlon on Sunday, finishing the 40 kilometer circuit faster than anyone else en route to a winning overall time of two hours, 11 minutes and 40 seconds.
Susan Corti, of Westlake Village, won the women’s race and Rowena Spence repeated as women’s champion on the sprint course. Orange County’s Justin Rowe knocked out the sprint course in just over 54 minutes for the overall short-course title.
Repeat winner Spence fell off her winning time of last year slightly, but was still able to hold off fellow Santa Barbaran Liz Groom with a mark of 1:02:21. Spence, 31, finished 23rd overall.
