Sophomore-sensation Lauren Stratman went 6-0 in singles matches on the weekend as the Dos Pueblos girls tennis team split a pair of road matches to start the 2009 season.
Stratman’s first 3-0 performance came in hot, windy conditions that led to a 13-5 loss at Valencia High School on Friday. The doubles teams of Hannah Schmitz/Kim Preston and Katie O’Brien/Rachel Amspoker picked up a set each in the match.
It was a much better result for the Chargers on Saturday, as the tandem of Nicole Eskenazi/Kim Preston joined Stratman in going 3-0 to lead DP to an 11-7 victory at West Ranch. Nicoletta Bradley and Chloe Warinner each picked up a singes set in the match.
“The girls all showed great efforts, sportsmanship and determination and are looking forward to a great season,” said coach Suzy Dahl.
