What a horrible date the Santa Barbara boys water polo team has been for Servite lately. Last Friday night’s meeting ended badly for the Friars, with Santa Barbara leaving after dealing Servite a 10-9 defeat.
The Friars came back for more this Friday but it didn’t work out any better for them as the Dons took away a 7-4 decision at the South Coast Tournament.
Mark Davis recorded a goal, two assists and two steals to help the Dons land in the 9-through-12 bracket.
“He’s on of our hardest workers, one of our unsung heroes,” said Santa Barbara head coach Mark Walsh of Davis, a senior. “He was creating a lot with his movement and driving.”
Nick Johnson and Enzo Wolfe scored two goals each and Sam Foley and Brendan Kerwin-McElroy also scored.
Santa Barbara (4-3) plays Long Beach Wilson on Saturday at 10:40 a.m. to decide which team will play for ninth place.
