The Santa Barbara boys water polo team got “off the snide” on Friday night, as head coach Mark Walsh put it, recording their first win of the season in a 10-9 victory at Servite.
Brendan Kerwin-McElroy was most dangerous for the Dons, scoring three times.
“We had a great start,” said Santa Barbara coach Mark Walsh, noting how his team enjoyed early leads of 5-2 and 7-3.
But the Dons were outscored 3-0 in the third period and had to hold on in the fourth to make the win official.
Santa Barbara (1-2) completes its two-game weekend trip to Orange County with a Saturday morning game at Esperanza.
