The Dos Pueblos volleyball team just kept getting stronger in its Channel League opener on Thursday, disposing of Ventura 25-20, 25-15, 25-11 in the Cougars’ gym.
Chargers head coach Todd Garrett thought his team’s performance at the service line was key to the victory, with Sam Wopat and Sally Yingst leading the way with two aces apiece.
Sammie Brown delivered 16 assists with seven kills. Yingst had a team-high 11 kills and the Wopat twins tallied eight each. Paige Craine pitched in a team-high 21 assists.
