The Santa Barbara Swim Club brought 30 swimmers to the Southern California Junior Olympics in Santa Clarita last weekend and had a fantastic day.
“There are so many outstanding performances it’s hard to single any one out,” said head coach John Dussliere.
Emily Swindle picked up a win in the 13-14 200-meter butterfly while also swimming a leg on the winning 13-14 200 medley relay. Her teammates in the victory were Julia Horibe, Janelle Nguyen and Madison Faulkner.
Maelyn Adornetto, Karl Boscacci, and James Daugherty qualified for the Championship Heat (top 8) in every event they swam, and Walker Bell was also impressive in all of his events.
Nolan Gardner, Maelyn Adornetto, and Michelle Dockendorf were all selected to the Southern California Swimming All Star Team that will compete this week against all star teams from Mexico and Canada at the North American Challenge Cup in La Mirada. Only the top 8 swimmers from each age group were invited to compete.
Trevor Kosmo, Karl Boscacci, Lolo Blair, and Lindsay Parrish, are all qualified for the USA Swimming Junior Nationals in Federal Way, WA, from August 10-14.
