The power-packed Dos Pueblos girls volleyball team made an early statement last weekend, taking down Harvard-Westlake 25-23, 25-20, 18-25, 25-23 to win the Oxnard Summer Invitational.
The Chargers, last year’s Channel League champs and CIF runners-up, took down Long Beach Wilson in a hard-fought semifinal match 25-18, 22-25, 25-10, 17-25, 15-7.
“The girls showed a lot of poise in the tight games and everyone played extremely well all weekend,” said first-year head coach Todd Garrett.
