Todd Booth was the overall winner in a 324-person field at Saturday’s Semana Nautica 15k run at San Marcos High School, clocking in at 52 minutes, 39 seconds — nearly a minute ahead of second-place finisher Conner Mellon. Andrea McLarty was the top women’s finisher with a mark of 57:34.
Booth, 40, said he was surprised with the result because he was coming off of a rough previous weekend of competing with his Platinum Performance Cycling Team. He also said he had pulled a hamstring earlier in the week.
McLarty, 32, said that the foggy conditions were perfect for the event. The decorated local runner was nearly two minutes ahead of the next female finisher.
