With solid pitching and impressive defense, the U12 Goleta Thunder softball team won the Central California State Championship in Bakersfield on June 26-28. The Thunder became the top team out of 17 teams and outscored their opponents 26 to 3 in 110 degree weather conditions.
Representing Central California as the highest ranked team, the Goleta Thunder will be competing in the Western Nationals in Milwaukie, Oregon from July 27 to August 2.
Team members include Madison Buie, Madison Dochterman, Alana Evans, Ali Everson, Veronika Gulvin, Bailey King, Jordan Krauss, Courtney Miller, Emi Parker, Jenna Phreaner, Samantha Sander, and Kai Uyesaka. The team is managed by Jon Uyesaka and the coaches include Steve Evans, Jay Everson, and Dave Parker.
