Bishop Diego’s Cody Yokubaitis lowered his ERA to 2.64 in a complete-game effort on Wednesday, leading the Cardinals baseball team to a 5-3 Tri-Valley League victory over Fillmore.
Yokubaitis allowed only one unearned run on the day while striking out three and scattering four hits.
“It was a fantastic effort from Cody once again,” said head coach Brian Moulton.
The sophomore pitcher leads the team in innings pitched with 45 and was a big reason Bishop was able to claim its first league victory of the season in its final TVL game. Both games with Fillmore were postponed last week because of the Jesusita Fire and only this one will be made up.
