Warriors come up short against Seraphs

Isacc Cervantes’ seventh inning home run pulled the Carpinteria baseball team within one of visiting St. Bonaventure on Wednesday, but the Warriors stopped there, dropping the Tri-Valley League game 6-5.

Cervantes led four Warriors with multi-hit games, including Nathan Saito, Kyle Geary and Tony Sanchez.

Carpinteria maintains a winning record at 12-7, 5-4 with another game against St. Bonaventure on Friday in Ventura.

“Big Picture is we’re disapointed to lose the baseball game but our thoughts are with the fire victims,” Warriors coach Pat Cooney said.
