SBCC placed third out of 15 schools in the 2009 WSC Athletic Supremecy race, moving up from the sixth spot in 2008. The Vaqueros finished with 76.5 points, thanks to conference titles in football, men’s soccer and men’s and women’s golf. Ventura won the Supremecy Award for the 10th straight year with 129 points. Cuesta was second at 96.5.
The award was based on 18 sports, including five that SBCC does not compete in (M-W swimming, M-W water polo and wrestling).
