It was a high-octane all-Santa Barbara showdown Thursday at the Channel League boys tennis doubles final, with Evan Teufel and Spencer Simon defeating fellow Dons Dan Diaz-Evan Williams 6-2, 7-5.
“It was a very high-quality match by both sides,” said coach Steve Geremia, who was dealing with some issues due to the Jesusita Fire and credited assistant Greg Tebbe for handling most of the coaching duties.
Williams and Diaz defeated Santa Barbara’s Matt Demopoulos-Christian Wheeler in the semifinals, while the eventual champs took down Dos Pueblos’ Andy Silverstein and Eric Katz.
