The Carpinteria softball team made sure it advanced through its CIF wildcard game on Tuesday, scoring 23 runs in a 23-12 victory at Marlborough, confirming a Thursday first-round matchup with Marantha.
Myriah Diaz tallied four hits and six RBIs for the Warriors, who also had a four-hit game from Roxanne Hugo. Carpinteria piled on 19 hits in the high-scoring affair.
Sierra Freeman and Nicole Pearce got in on the action with three hits each. Hugo, Dani Mendoza, Katrina Haeringer and Maribel Trujillo all recorded 2 RBIs each.
