The Cate girls lacrosse team escaped a major upset on Wednesday, holding on to an 11-10 victory at Dunn on Wednesday afternoon.
Goalkeeper Alexx Temena needed to make 19 saves in order to preserve the win that kept the Rams undefeated in the Condor League at 5-0 and clinched at least a share of the league title.
Tori Thompson led Cate in scoring with five goals.
The Rams host a mini-tournament on Saturday in which the winner secures one of four CIF playoff berths. Cate’s first game is at 1:30 p.m.
