Laguna Blanca may have been swept in the second round of the Division V boys volleyball playoffs Tuesday night, but the endpoint of the season was satisfying nonetheless.
Carrying only eight players after losing much of its roster and having the JV squad dissolve, the Owls fell to Cantwell-Sacred Heart 27-25, 25-17, 25-20 at Merovick Gym.
“I’m proud of these guys for getting to where they did after all that we went through this year,” said first-year head coach Bobby Sanchez. “We didn’t necessarily have an experienced, seasoned squad but they found a way.
Senior Julian “Rock of Gibraltar” Harake led the way one final time for the Owls, putting up 10 kills. Parker Lilly chipped in five kills with a pair of blocks.
