Julian Harake and Spencer Dousabout were feeling the flow Friday in Laguna Blanca’s 25-21, 25-20, 25-20 sweep at Southwestern Academy in the first round of the CIF boys volleyball playoffs.
Harake, a senior, pounded 13 kills with five blocks and three digs while Dousabout dished out 24 assists.
“Spencer has improved tremendously, and we wouldn’t be here if it wasn’t for his improvement. He runs a good show,” said coach Bobby Sanchez, who added that the team has gone through a lot of adversity to make it to this point.
“I’m pleased and surprised that these guys are where they are. We only have eight players, and this victory means a heck of a lot to these kids. I can’t wait to see them play again,” he added.
Jack Stegall also contributed five kills for the Owls, who will play again on Tuesday, with the site and opponent to be announced.
