Garrett Garcia finished up with a solid round of 81 to lead Bishop Diego’s golf team to a season-ending fourth-place finish in the final Frontier League golf tourney, held Thursday at Mountain View Golf Course.
The Cardinals shot a cumulative 449, just 16 strokes off of Grace Brethren’s winning tally.
“Our players have consistently narrowed the gap between the top contending teams, improving our scores every week,” said coach Marty Herrera, who also expressed that the team should contend for a Frontier title next year as it carries no seniors.Garcia and Jun Huh received second-team all-league honors, and Anthony Pell was honorable mention.
