Four Bishop Diego athletes qualified for the CIF track and field prelims at the Frontier League Championships on Thursday. The prelims will be held at Carpinteria High on Saturday.
Elisa Muñoz won the conference title in the girls discus with a personal-best throw of 85 feet, while Lauren Sener was runner-up with a qualifying mark of 75-7. Nicole Poindexter had a great day for the Cards, winning the long jump (15-5) while also qualifying in the 100 (13.55) and 200 (27.82).
Freshman sensation Christie Delgadillo scored points for Bishop in the 800 and 1600 while qualifying in the 3200, finishing in 13 minutes, 34 seconds.
Bishop’s girls finished in second place in the league while the boys were fourth.
