Mary Ann Giles and Jennifer Lopez each started double plays that ended up with first baseman Rachel Hunter to highlight strong defense, but the Santa Barbara softball team fell to first-place Buena 11-1 on Friday.
Lacey Chesser hit a 3-run dinger for the Bulldogs in the fifth inning. Santa Barbara is now 8-11 overall and 0-8 in the Channel League.
