The Dos Pueblos softball team couldn’t get anything going in a 2-0 loss at Torrance on Thursday, ending the Chargers’ season in the first round of the Division IV playoffs.
DP mustered only a pair of hits against the Tartars’ Mea Flores, who collected nine strikeouts.
Starting pitcher Hannah Harris and sophomore Natalie Waugh were responsible for the Chargers’ hits.
Harris tossed a five-hitter with two strikeouts. Four of Torrance’s hits, including a 2-run single in the third inning, came on high choppers that made their way through the infield.
Coach Lee Harris singled out the play of Andria Castagnola in centerfield where she made six catches, none routine.
“We just didn’t get the bat on the ball,” Harris summed up.
Dos Pueblos ends its season with a 14-14 mark while Torrance moves on with a 21-11 record.
