Warriors rush Flashes for 16 runs

The Carpinteria baseball team scored in every inning on Wednesday, eventually settling on a 16-4 Tri-Valley League romp over Fillmore on the Warriors’ field.

Nathan Saito pitched a complete game for the Warriors to earn his fourth win of the season as Carpinteria improves to 9-4 overall and 2-1 in league. The senior right-hander gave up only three hits and struck out six in his seven innings of work. None of the Flashes’ four runs were earned.

Saito also went 3-for-4 at the plate, recording 2 doubles, 2 RBIs and 2 runs scored along the way.

Isacc Cervantes and Trevor Madden also made their presences felt in the batter’s box. Cervantes knocked in three runs on two hits and Madden scored four runs on two hits.

Carpinteria did most of its damage in the second and fifth innings, amassing 11 of its runs in those two frames.

The Warriors will attempt to win their first Tri-Valley League road game on Friday when they travel to Fillmore.
